Internship Requirements and Expectations
Age Requirement: Interns must be at least 18 years old.
Time Commitment: Interns must complete a minimum of 380 hours over the course of the semester, which is approximately 24 hours per week for 16 weeks.
Office Locations: Internship opportunities are available at any of Embrace’s four offices in Northwestern Wisconsin: Rice Lake, Spooner, Ladysmith, or Phillips.
Typical Work Hours: Regular office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Some evening and weekend hours may be requested depending on helpline coverage, scheduled groups, and community events.
On-Call Commitment: Interns are asked to participate in one night or weekend on-call shift per month as part of their internship experience.
Background Checks and Fingerprinting
Because Embrace works directly with survivors and other program participants, all interns must complete Embrace’s required background check before participating in applicable internship activities.
Additionally, fingerprinting is required for interns who will observe or interact with program participants. This process requires additional time and expense to coordinate, so please keep this in mind when planning your internship timeline.
